The video shows what my pool yard looked like after they cleaned my filter. DE was splattered all around a 10x20 ft. area on the heater, filter, a storage shed, the grass, stepping stones, bricks, the hose, cement pad. And even inside the controller box. It was up to an inch deep in some places. The tech that made the mess returned, but did nothing noticeable to clean up the mess. A second tech came the next day, but still failed to return my equipment area to its normal condition.
The pool tech said there was 40 lbs if DE in the filter. I don't know why they did not backwash it down the drain? I have cleaned my filter even when it was heavily soiled without making this kind of unsightly mess. I hired them to save time, but had to spend over 1.5 hours wiping and shoveling DE off stuff. Don't use them they will trash your yard
They also left the pool controller in service mode not auto which i didn't discover for 50 hours. They turned the pool features on and left them on. They left a gate open and did not bother putting the hose away.
Once I called to ask for help with the mess, the communication was bad. No one called me over a five hour period. No one told me a second tech was coming the next day. This interfered with scheduled maintenance. Such poor service. If I could bill them I would.
I discovered a couple weeks later that they also left the pump controller box open when they cleaned it and they had DE caked in the inside.
